The Aurelian Walls
From the residence you can admire the Aurelian Walls, a circuit of walls built between 270 and 273 by the Emperor Aurelian to defend Rome from barbarian attacks.
They were built over a very short period of time: a little over two years, with different teams working simultaneously on separate sections. For economic and military reasons, many pre-existing buildings were incorporated within the nearly 19 km perimeter of walls.
